Bar Mitzvah (בַּר מִצְוָה) & Bat Mitzvah (בַּת מִצְוָה)
(lit., “son/daughter of the commandment”) is the celebration of a boy’s 13th birthday and a girl’s 12th birthday according to Jewish tradition, when the child officially stands as part of a responsible member of the community. Upon reaching this age, the girl or boy recognizes their responsibility to live a life of covenant faithfulness, observing the Torah, worshiping the Messiah Yeshua, and serving as a member within the community.
